Virgen del Rosario of Marchena

The Virgen del Rosario (Virgin of the Rosary), patron saint of Marchena; is one of the towns of the countryside of Seville that lives with greater intensity its particular processions.

An opportunity to extend a weekend break in Seville, as the procession will be Wednesday, October 7, in the evening.

Marchena, a beautiful historic town in the Seville countryside, is one of the towns with a greater heritage of brotherhoods, not only in terms of statues or images, insignias, Baroque floats (pay attention to the angels on the corners of the float of the Virgin):

it even has its own saetas, that have been created throughout history by many singer-songwriters from Marchena given the devotion of this town towards its brotherhoods and its Holy Week.

The procession is very spectacular:
for the know-how of the brotherhoods of this beautiful historic district of the Seville countryside, for the band of trumpets and drums blaring in the whitewashed streets, for the respect for the people, for the monuments of a city with a splendid Muslim, Renaissance and Baroque past...

How to get there
